In April 2018, the best swimmers from across the Commonwealth will go head to head on the Gold Coast in Australia. We are excited to announce that 6 of our Funkita F-Teamers will be packing their sun cream to represent England, Northern lreland, Scotland and Wales.

Scottish swimmer Kathleen Dawson will be one of the few Scottish girls heading out to Australia next summer. At the World Championships Kathleen swam an impressive 100m backstroke to finish 8th in a time of 59.90, fast enough to guarantee her a ticket to Oz! After her Commonwealth debut in her home country in 2014, Kathleen is hungry for success on the Gold Coast!

Olympian Molly Renshaw is amongst the initial list of English swimmers to secure her spot on Team GB. Molly finished 6th in the 200m breaststroke at the World Championships in Hungary, in a time of 2:22.96, under the CG qualification time. Molly took out the bronze in the same event in Glasgow 2014 so we can't wait to see her smash it out in 2018!

Racing against Molly in the 200m breaststroke at World Champs, Jocelyn Ulyett finished 9th in a time of 2:23.82, also swimming well under the CG times and securing a seat next to Molly on the plane!

Young gun Holly Hibbott locked in her spot on Team England on the World Champs stage. Racing in her first senior international meet, Holly went on to swim an 8:30.33 in the women's 800m freestyle to finish 8th amongst some of the greatest freestylers in history.

Fly superstar Emily Large has qualified in the women's 200m butterfly. She did so at the World Junior Championships in Indianapolis in August, where she won gold in a time of 2:07.74, almost 3 seconds under the qualification time!

Dual Olympian Ellie Faulkner will be adding another Commonwealth Games to her list of international competitions. Ellie swam an impressive 200m freestyle at British Summer Nationals; finishing 3 metres clear of the field to win gold in a personal best of 1:57.04.

There are still plenty of spaces up for grabs to be a part of Team England on the Gold Coast, and these will be filled in December at the English Long course! F-Teamer Aimee Willmott, who is also a Team England Ambassador, is amongst the list of girls aiming to qualify. Due to injury Aimee bypassed the World Championships so this is her one and only chance and we know she'll be working hard to secure a place on the English team! F- Teamers Abbie Wood and Ciara Schlosson are also amongst the list of girls who also have a chance to qualify in December.

Congratulations to all our UK F-Team who are heading down under!
