Next year the Commonwealth Games is set to be spectacular!  From Glasgow in 2014, the swimmers will be swapping their rain jackets for board shorts as the Games ger set to wind up in Surfers Paradise!  F-Teamer Max Litchfield is on the first list of English swimmers to secure a seat on the plane to the Gold Coast!

Last season Max swam out of his skin at the World Championships in Hungary, not only setting a new Commonwealth record in the 400m individual medley in a time of 4:09.62, but also swimming the all-important CG qualification time set by Team England. In doing so, Max also became the first British man to swim under 4:10.00

Max also broke an 8-year-old British record previously held by swimming legend James Goddard, to swim a new personal best of 1:56.64 and add the 200m individual medley to his racing schedule in Australia.

After such a fantastic year for Max in 2017 we wonder what 2018 has on the cards. At Glasgow 2014, Max finished 12th in 400 individual medley and knowing him we are sure he'll be out to take home a gold on the Gold Coast.

There are still spaces up for grabs for the rest of Team England. The remaining 17 available places will be filled in December at the English Long Course. Max's brother Joe as well as old teammate Elliot Clogg will be amongst the list of swimmers hoping to book a seat on the plane!

Michael Gunning, who has recently moved back to train with Stockport Swimming Club, also has a strong chance of being part of Team Jamaica on the Gold Coast. Michael had an incredible World Championship debut.

Congratulations Max and good luck to our F-Team as they try secure their spots for the Commonwealth Games 2017!
