15 year old Jacob Vincent from Hobart, Tasmania has already come a long way in the world of competitive swimming.
Showing an incredible amount of focus and determination in the pool, this rising star has already broken over 100 state swimming records. From his first race at 10, Vincent went on to break his first Tasmanian record at 11 in the 400m freestyle. Wanting to be a versatile swimmer, he then started swimming 1500m events and his results indicate this will likely be his signature race. In February this year at the Tasmanian Swimming Championships, Vincent swam his 1500m free in the third-fastest time ever by a 14 year-old Australian, taking the gold and breaking six Tasmanian records in the one swim. Vincent's time beat Grant Hackett's best when he was the same age.
